Hard Sided Case Conversions

CCI has the capability to customize any hard sided case. There are many different styles available. We take an empty case and turn it into a custom container designed specific to your product. Often used in military and aerospace applications, hard sided cases meet the strictest of packaging standards.

Depending on what the application is CCI selects the proper material taking into consideration several factors. What ESD protection is required? We can select either a conductive or dissipative material based on needs.

Is FOD a concern? We have materials that would be considered FOD free, cleanable and permanent. That makes sure that the product doesn’t become contaminated during transport.

How physically sensitive is the application? Again, we have multiple materials that we can use to make sure the product is protected physically inside the container.

We take all of these factors into consideration to design the perfect solution that protects the product physically, electrically and chemically.

Four Slot KleanStat Flex Document Holder

We have created a unique document holder that separates paperwork during use. Made from our superior KleanStat Flex, the document holder features four pouches. Each pouch will hold a 8 1/2 x 11 document. The holder has two grommets on the top for use in either hanging or attaching the holder to the totes. KleanStat Flex is permanently static dissipative and can be cleaned with IPA without denigrating the ESD properties. Manufactured using RF welding the pouch is tough, durable and gives the user great flexibility in sorting the documentation as it moves through the manufacturing process.

Alternative To Bubble Wrapping Boards

A common way to protect circuit boards or assemblies has always been to wrap each board with pink bubble wrap. We recently created an alternative solution that eliminates the pink “short term ESD” bubble wrap and its waste, the excessive handling needed to “wrap” around the board and fasten with tape and the excessive handling needed to unwrap the board. The excessive handling in that scenario creates an opportunity to damage the board both physically and electrically. Remember, the standard rule of thumb in electronics manufacturing is that every time you handle a product you introduce the opportunity to damage the product both physically and electrically (ESD damage). By eliminating a lot of the excessive handling it eliminates a lot of that damage. Handle less – damage less.

High Tech Packaging Solution For High Tech Product

High tech product requires a high tech packaging solution. Protecting the contents of the package requires consideration of physical, electrical and chemical protection. The design featured this week had to include several design elements for physical protection to protect the unique board design that had flex ribbon cables with delicate connectors and had minimum areas to hold product down. For electrical (ESD) and chemical protection the material choice  was CCI’s S680 which is inherently dissipative, humidity insensitive and ultra-clean. S680 is a go to choice for medical device, electronic component and hard disk packaging.  Completing this package was a conductive box that created the necessary Faraday Cage required for total ESD protection.

Custom ESD Protective Case For High Value Product

This highly engineered custom protective case keeps the high value product secure during manufacturing, transport and storage.

 

                 

 

The Durastat style container with large reverse lid made out of conductive fluted plastic provide a strong outer shell. Inside is contoured ESD safe foam that cradles the product as it rests in the container. Once the lid is placed on the tote strong straps with snap together buckles secure it in place. To finish the design we have affixed S680 plastic to the bottom so the container easily slides on and off racking and carts. All materials are permanently ESD safe and specifically chosen to fit the application.
